Celtic Drilling Ltd was founded by company director William May in 2017.
We are a specialist drilling contractor located in the heart of Cornwall, servicing Cornwall and the southwest.
We offer extensive specialist rotary, land drilling services to include mining investigations, water boreholes, piling, geothermal and water / gas monitoring holes. Utilising multi-use mini rigs designed for tight access, with the addition of sound proofing for domestic areas.
We are committed to providing highly experienced drillers, who receive comprehensive and ongoing training.

About Our Rigs
Based on the original Holman unitrack design using Holman head, feed motor, tracking motors and tracking base. The rigs were remanufactured in 2018 to allow for an evolution of the Holman design allowing for sideways tilt of the mast to achieve vertical drilling on sloping ground and fast feed for faster removal of the rod string on borehole completion.
This evolution of the original design also brought the rigs forward to meet current health and safety regulations. These include stop switches, cage guarding and reduced operation mode for the addition and removal of rods. The rigs have a compact design, capable of being tracked through a standard doorway, and able to track up and down narrow steps, making tight spaces accessible. They also have the ability to drill to depths of over 100m with ease. The rigs have been designed with soundproofed power packs, to allow for use in domestic areas without the concern of noise pollution. All of our rigs use biodegradable hydraulic oil as an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional hydraulic oil.
